Rung with the bells
half-muffled as an affectionate tribute to the memory of the late
Mr. Arthur Ward, Private, 14th York and Lancaster Regiment,
and sometime member of the Ranmoor company, who gave his life
for his country in action at Gavrelle, July 1st, 1917. The peal was
rung by a few of his colleagues, prior to the unveiling by Mrs. Nicholls,
wife of the Vicar of Ranmoor, of a brass tablet placed in the ringing
chamber in his memory, by members of the local company.

* First peal by the ringer of the 6th.
