IN MEMORY OF THE DEAD. On Saturday last, at Ranmore Church, Sheffield, a quarter-peal of Double Norwich Major was rung in 47 mins., This was rung with half-muffled clappers (subsequent to the failure of an attempt for a peal of Grandsire Triples by the same band), previous to the dedication by the Lord Bishop ot Sheffield of a memorial cross and tablet, in honoured memory of the 60 men of Ranmoor, who laid down their lives for their country in the great war. Several well-struck touchs of Stedman Triples were also brought round before and after the dedication, in which Messrs. J. Holman, R. W. Collier (T. O’Hara), and A. Haynes also took part. |
